🤠 Hello, I’m Yixiao (Jimmy) Fang!
Welcome to my personal website! I’m a first-year MS/PhD student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. Currently, I’m a member of the Human-Centered Autonomy Lab advised by Prof. Katie Driggs-Campbell.
Before attending graduate school, I obtained my bachelor’s degree also at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I majored in Electrical Engineering and minored in Computer Science.
🌐 About Me
In my academic journey, I specialize in developing algorithms to enhance human-robot interactions and improve robot navigation. My research primarily focuses on improving the spatial awareness and decision-making abilities of autonomous systems, thereby facilitating smoother interactions with humans.
I have also gained hands-on experience with robotic system design in industry, specifically focusing on perception systems integration. I have worked on projects that involve real-time robot agent communication, image classification & processing, and vision-based control relying on accurate pose estimation.
